Students will also have an opportunity to practice diffusing confrontations verbally while learning to identify when an assault is imminent.
8 Hour Program: This workshop combines the skills, training methods, talking points and scenarios in the 4 hour course with defenses against chokes, grabs and attacks from the rear. This class can be taught in 2 hour blocks if needed.
16 Hour Program: This workshop is an expanded version of the 8 hour course. The opportunity for skill development is greatly increased by allowing more training time. Specialty Programs: The skills and information taught in the courses listed above are not dependant on age, gender, size or strength and apply equally to both men or women, however, we do have several programs designed to address the specific needs of
senior citizens,
children and
individuals with physical, emotional or cognitive challenges.
Custom Programs: In addition to the workshops listed above, we can design special programs to address your specific requirements. We also have a number of programs that teach non-impact control methods, the use of personal protection devices and which address the issue of defending against armed individuals.
Skills:Our curriculum is built on time-tested, relevant and realistic methods that are easy to learn and retain under stress. The skills taught are based on physiological and psychological responses to survival stress and natural, common motor skills.
Training Methods: Our programs are performance based, designed to develop functional skill with minimal training. Our comprehensive approach to safety is reflected in our diverse curriculum, which is taught by dedicated, experienced and highly credentialed instructors. Students are coached according to their own rate of progression in a friendly supportive atmosphere that instills confidence by building on success. In addition to the physical skills taught, topics include mental preparation and awareness, threat recognition, assessment and decision making, survival stress and its affects on performance, the dynamic of violent encounters, self-defense objectives, use of force and the law and assault prevention.
