Live Safe Academy, LLC is proud to announce the return of Louis M. Chiodo for our sixteenth Advanced Training Clinic organized by Ian Kinder. Our LSA TC, October 2009 will be hosted by the Michigan Tactical Airsoft Center in Warren Michigan and will consist of two separate one-day workshops featuring the Phase Three Combat Shooting Methods handgun workshop and the Close-Quarter Battle Long Gun class.

LOUIS M. CHIODO is the founder of GUNFIGHTERS Ltd. (www.gunfightersltd.com), a private training company that provides instruction to law enforcement and military. Lou is also a twenty three year veteran of our country’s largest state police agency. He served as a Captain, United States Marine Corps (Regular) before entering law enforcement. Lou is well known in the law enforcement training community for developing the current firearm-training program for his agency, a program which dramatically increased the success of their officers. Lou’s training system uses both target-focused methods of engagement and, when appropriate, sighted methods of engagement. He has worked directly with Lieutenant Colonel Rex Applegate and has trained hundreds of officers nationwide in the use of his system. Throughout his twenty three years of experience as a police firearm instructor, he has emphasized training methodologies that are relevant to real world encounters.

LIVE SAFE ACADEMY, LLC is a proud member of the Better Business Bureau, National Rifle Association Business Alliance and the Great Lakes Self-Defense Association Instructor Alliance Program. Our experienced, dedicated staff consists of law enforcement officers, attorneys, military personnel, registered nurses, and professional educators and trainers. All of our instructors are certified through nationally recognized organizations. We specialize in the training of first aid, assault and crime prevention, unarmed force methods, sharp and impact weapons, chemical defense sprays, and firearms. We teach basic and advanced firearm training and Concealed Pistol License (CPL) workshops. Our firearm programs focus on reality based, Force-on-Force training, target-focused shooting, skill integration, and concealed carry tactics.

WHO:

Each course is open to the first twenty-four qualified individuals that submit a complete registration. Participants must be one of the following:

Law Enforcement Officer
Military Personnel
Concealed Pistol License holder

To participate in the Phase Three Combat Shooting Methods program, students must have successfully completed the Phase Two Combat Shooting Methods workshop.

WHAT:

The Phase Three Combat Shooting Methods handgun course provides you with training and information that can be applied in a multitude of situations where life or death is on the line. A realistic firearms training program that prepares you to meet the challenge of real world encounters is essential to maximize your survival potential. The disconnect between training and reality is at the root of the low hit rate attained in combat shootings, and in many cases the injury or death of the operator attempting to employ their training.

The use of Airsoft technology will allow you to engage a “human target” safely in a controlled force-on-force environment. This will help you make the transition from engaging paper and cardboard targets to engaging a hostile threat in real engagements. You will learn to shoot and move and engage threats in multiple directions while participating in interactive exercises.

The Close-Quarter Battle Long Gun course is designed to allow the operator to develop proficiency in the use of long guns in a CQB environment. The entire course is conducted using Airsoft training guns which allow a dynamic that cannot be duplicated on a live fire range. The operator can more fully develop the ability to rapidly and accurately engage a threat at realistic CQB ranges under conditions that replicate the three dimensional environment present in live confrontations.

Michigan Tactical Airsoft Center. MTAC is an 8,000 sq ft. indoor facility with a two acre outdoor training area. MTAC is a fully equipped law enforcement training facility that is also open to the public. MTAC has a classroom and training room, as well as several realistic stages, including a Hotel Room, Bank, Jail Cell, Convenient Store, House, Police Car, SUV, School Bus, and Breachable Door.
